Insights about rhinestone nail art home

If you have set your heart on dazzling rhinestone nails and wish to do them at home, you are looking at the right place. Before you begin with your designs and nail art patterns, make sure you have the essential items in hand. Without the tools and equipment, it won't be possible to get professional salon-like nails at home.

Items you need for designing rhinestone nail art

Before you settle down and begin with your dazzling nail art, here are some items listed below that you should have in your nail art tool kit.

  • Nail light- UV light is emitted from the equipment which helps to cure your nails and dry off the gel.
  • Gel base coat.
  • Some rhinestones.
  • Gel color.
  • Primer.
  • Rubbing alcohol or nail cleanser.
  • Nail filer or a buffer.
  • Crystal pick-up pin.

How to prepare your nails for nail art

No matter what sort of nail art you are doing, whether a regular one, gel, glitters, or stones, there is one thing that remains constant. You are expected to prepare your nails first which begins with thorough cleaning of the surface. Unless you ensure that the surface is cured for the gel, the gel will likely be lifted and will not last long. Begin with the shaping of the nails. The cuticles need to be pushed back as well.

You may use a cotton swab dipped in acetone or nail removed solution to clean any stray nail paint that is left behind around the edges. The cuticles can get dry over time and removing them in that state can cause pain and ultimately lead to bleeding and infection. Even if you are not a professional, nail art at home should be enjoyable and creative instead of painful and infectious. Use some cuticle oil to soften your skin and then you may gently push them behind with the back of the toothpick.

For gel nail art, you need to buff the surface of the nails. This gives better anchorage to the gel which sticks for a longer time to your nails. You should have a proper buffer in the house to do this. Soon you will see that the smooth and shiny surface is gone and your nails look dusty and rough. That is exactly what you need. However, do not buff too much as this can remove the top layers of the nail and cause subsequent damage. A 180-grit buffer is the best thing to use to do the job right.

Now you should dip a lint-free cotton wipe into a rubbing alcohol solution. Now sweep all across the face of the nails to remove any dust particles on the surface of the nails and soak up the extra moisture. This is highly effective for the gels which anchor to the nails better now.

It is time now to apply the primer. Once that is done and have allowed it to dry up, you can move on to the application of gel and rhinestone.

Application of gel and rhinestone to your nails

Begin with applying the first base coat to your nails. Cure this layer for thirty seconds to one minute. Make sure the surface is even before you cure the nails and that all the portion of the nail is covered in the base coat. Usually, two layers of base coat are applied to the nails. An orangewood stick or a crystal pick-up stick can be used to do the job. You can apply some vibrant colour as the base coat too to give a distinct background to the rhinestone-studded nails.

Allow your nails to be cured for sixty seconds and then repeat on each nail one by one. Apply two layers of top coat to your nails so that the shimmer and shine are maintained. Use a nail remover to get rid of any excess polish on the skin around your nails. Apply cuticle oil and lotion to clean the surface well.

Finally, your nails are ready! If you are heading to a party or a wedding, don't forget to get these gorgeous nails done. Don't forget to read the article well before you begin.
